About Us
Meet Cliff Baxter, Founder of Helping Hands Tech
I’m a proud U.S. Navy veteran, husband to my wonderful wife Lura for over 35 years, and father to two adult children.
After nearly 33 years of service with NASA—including roles as an electronics technician, engineer, site engineer, and manager at the TDRSS satellite tracking station near Las Cruces and the Guam Remote Ground Terminal—I launched Helping Hands Tech to meet a growing need I witnessed firsthand.
My inspiration for Helping Hands Tech came from caring for my own mother as she aged. Like many older adults, she was determined to live independently for as long as possible. She stayed in her own homes until the age of 92 before moving into an independent living center in Las Cruces, where she lived until her passing in 2024.
While working closely with my sister overseas to coordinate our mother’s care, it became clear that there was a gap in the kinds of respectful, dependable support services many older adults need—especially when it comes to navigating technology and managing small tasks around the home. Helping Hands Tech was born out of that experience and from my desire to serve others with the same care and dignity I wanted for my mother.
Here I am with my dear mother Sally.
Our Mission
Helping Hands Tech was founded on the belief that true service is rooted in compassion, trust, and faith. We provide friendly, reliable in-home and remote tech support, along with light indoor and outdoor handy help, to residents of the Mesilla Valley. Guided by Proverbs 3:5–6, we strive to make every client feel supported, respected, and at ease — in a space they truly love to call home.
“In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:6
